wand/staff/focus based spells
Just like sword attacks can only be used with swords, axes with axe attacks and etc, I'm suggesting that maybe some spells can only be used with the requisite staff or in any case there should be a bonus for equipping a wand and focus or staff instead of sitting on a spear and shield set.
Flare could be changed to a fire staff attack and do 1...2 sec of blind, 6sec cooldown. Ice spear, ice staff attack, 1...2 seconds of 25% movement reduction. Etc etc, small bonuses, nothing game breaking but enough to make staves and wands actually valuable and viable. |

you will see this type of thing in GW2. While I like your idea, and so does ANET: they decidied to implement something similar to it in GW2.

This would be really cool. Despite the fact that they will be implemented in GW2, i still like this idea and will /sign for GW1. Spells like flare, stone daggers, lightning javelin, and ice spear would all make good wand/staff attack spells.

/notsigned. Spells are spells. They have nothing to do with what you're carrying. Implementing this in GW1 is a waste of time and effort.
